Vineyard Christian Fellowship-West

Pastor of Youth
John Snowden

/files/Staff mugs/John Snowden.jpgJohn began serving at the Westside Vineyard in 1999 teaching a group of 2nd and 3rd graders.  It was his first role of leadership in any church related capacity after becoming a Christian in late high school and completing his undergraduate work as a theatre major at Northwestern University.

As time went on he kept graduating with the same group of kids each year.  Eventually John took a year off from children's church to help start the Altær community and get married to his really cool wife Rachel.  Shortly after, the Westside Vineyard announced they were looking for a part-time middle school youth pastor and he realized this was his opportunity to keep going with the same kids he'd been with all along who were now sixth graders.  John cut back his web programming gig to part time in order to do this.  Two and a half years later, when those same kids were on the verge of high school, John took on the high school youth and now oversees both middle and high school youth groups, and finally left his web programming job altogether.  John did not build this website but wishes he could take credit for it.

He's a baseball and football fan (particularly of the teams from Seattle) and enjoys skydiving, base jumping, kite-surfing, skateboarding and other extreme sports that he's never actually participated in but thought it'd be cool to say that he enjoys.  He's never done any of those things, actually, but he watches TV a lot.  Survivor is his favorite show and he's not afraid to admit it.  John has never been a spy for the CIA but thinks it could be fun if he knew more languages.

He's studying for his graduate degree from Trinity Learning Community Graduate School of Ministry in Corona, CA and should finish that in the summer of 2034.
